Charlie Angerman Jr.

Charlie Jr. grew up watching his dad drive stock cars, so it was natural for him to follow in his father's footsteps. Charlie Jr. was known to have a wild streak and was immensely popular with the younger crowd.

Charlie Jr. had an Auto body Repair business called Juniors Speedway Body Shop on Ocean Heights Avenue, next to the Friendship Bible Protestant Church in Steelmanville. The building is now occupied by his son who has a landscaping business.

Charlie Jr. drove several different cars over the years. The car above was numbered "250" as part of Egg Harbor Township's Tercentenary celebration.

I remember Charlie Jr. well.  He painted my 1950 Ford Coupe for me when I was 17 and did a great job.  Three days later some girl backed into my front fender while it was parked.  I also remember seeing Jr. win races at Vineland with the 6 cylinder Ford flathead powered car above.  That thing could really go.
